Adrienne is a community fibre artist who has worked in the Top End for 10 years. In the Katherine region she works in remote communities promoting weaving and exhibition opportunities. Using grass and wool sculpture in any shape or form is possible. Come and enjoy this relaxing creative workshop.

Rita Cameron- Traditional Pandanus Weaving


Rita Cameron is a traditional fibre artist from Beswick. She has exhibited at the Katherine Festival 2008 and the Self Preservation Gallery Melbourne 2009. She regularly creates pandanus mats and baskets for the Ghulmarn Cultural Centre and is pictured here running a pandanus workshop in Katherine as part of the Pandanus Project 2008.

Master Fibre Artist Sarah Ashley


Sarah Ashley is a fibre artist from the Beswick community 107 klms S/E of Katherine. She is a prolific pandanus weaver who in recent times has been adapting contemporary forms with traditional weaving techniques. She has run several weaving workshops her most recent at the Dreaming festival in Woodford. She has also exhibited at the Katherine festival in 2008 , the Self Preservation Gallery in Melbourne and the Nomad Arts Gallery 2009. Work that Sarah developed as part of the Pandanus Project was purchased for the Charles Darwin University collection.
