Peta Smith: Fabric Printing


Peta Smith

Has lived in the Northern Territory since 1982. She is a qualified art teacher I has worked in many remote communities teaching fabric printing to regional remote women, in both the desert and tropical communities in the Territory. She has also worked as an art teacher in high schools and played a role in assisting students with fabric printing courses at CDU. Throughout this time Peta has managed her fabric printing practice, undertaking all aspects of printing and making fashion items, which she sells at the Nightcliff markets at a self managed stall. Peta is well known throughout the Territory particularly for her individual lino prints and quality of work.
